The recent post-bye-week record means nothing. Like seriously this isn’t even a talking point.
The Jets are, in fact, 0-7 in their past 7 post-bye-week games. 4 of those losses came against New England, a team that’s had the Jets’ number for the past 15 games regardless of relative bye week placement. Only 2 losses came against teams with a losing record, and one of those records was 0-1. 4 losses came against teams over .500, and 3 losses came against teams at least 4 games over .500.
The Jets fielded their week 1 starting QB for the entirety of the game in only 4/7 losses. In 2 losses, the Jets fielded a QB who had never taken an NFL regular season snap prior to their entrance. In 4 losses, the Jets fielded a QB over the age of 35. 4 losses were single digit losses. In 2 losses, the Jets had 1st year head coaches AND rookie QBs.
In both of Saleh’s 2 losses, Zach Wilson either got injured or had a historically bad day.
In these 7 games, the Jets fielded:
- Ryan Fitzpatrick in a 5-point loss to the 8-2 Patriots.
- Josh McCown in an 8-point loss to the 7-3 Panthers.
- Josh McCown in a 14-point loss to the 7-3 Patriots.
- Luke Falk in a 25-point loss to the 2-2 Eagles (Luke Falk had never taken a regular-season snap prior to this game).
- Joe Flacco in a 6-point loss to the 2-7 Chargers (Jets were 0-9 entering this game).
- Zach Wilson [Replaced my Mike White due to injury] in a 41-point loss to the 0-1 Patriots (Mike White had never taken a regular-season snap prior to this game).
- Zach Wilson in a 7-point loss to the 5-4 Patriots (Zach Wilson was benched following this game).
The Jets also never beat the Eagles in the regular season. Look how that went. History means Jack shit in football
That speaks to the coaching staff. Two weeks to prepare, the team is rested, and you lose? Bad preparation by the coaches.
You have basically given me a nightmare.
The jets D line fully rested against this O-Line should control the entire game. Big Jermaine Johnson game incoming.
