I guess when you start out 1-4, and you’re trying to envision a path to the playoffs (because lord knows they’re not tanking) you don’t have much room for error, so every loss is going to feel twice as painful because we can’t really afford any.

Mix that in with now seeing how this group, the QB in particular responds after a loss. We all knew a loss was coming soon, it happened, now does the magic carpet ride end here? Are we stuck back at a possibility where Josh Dobbs is back down to earth a little bit after a three turnover game? I feel like we had an opportunity to ride a wave of momentum, we rode it, the wave crashed. Is there another wave or was that the only one of the season?

Yeah I mean I really like what Dobbs tools can provide. I see his mistakes and mishaps as fixable as time goes on with KOC. I really do believe that even if you have a decent/capable QB with the right coaching and weapons, can be your rock to the team without having to be anything special. See Brock Purdy, he does absolutely nothing spectacular but he makes the plays needed when Shannahan asks, why can’t that be Dobbs?

Mattison on the other hand has been on this system for two seasons now and it seems more times than not this season he’s put the Vikings under his mercy. (Fumble today, wide open drop against Chiefs that should have been an easy TD)
