In retrospect this offseason was really bad. Lets review.

Aaron Rodgers played 4 snaps. This was by far the biggest acquisition the team made and he hasn’t done anything. Obviously you can’t pin his Achilles on Douglas but you can pin his contingency plan. Sticking with Zach, letting Mike White, Teddy Bridgewater, Gardner Minshew and Josh Dobbs sign elsewhere killed our season.

The offensive playmakers we brought in suck. Randall Cobb is a healthy scratch, Allen Lazard sucks, Cook is washed and Mecole Hardman was traded. Corey Davis retired and was never replaced.

On the defensive end, both Williams brothers were locked up so that was good.

Nathaniel Hackett is a terrible hire. There is no excuse for the worst third down conversion rate in NFL history. Tommy DeVito threw for three TDs yesterday, we have not had 3 offensive TDs in a game all season. He needs to be fired.

Will McDonald does not move the needle. I still don’t understand that pick.

The bottom line is Douglas saw Rodgers as a band aid for everything. The offense would work if we got his OC, the receivers would be good if we got his receivers. But the man is old and I don’t have much confidence that this system would have worked with him anyways.

The level of play without him is inexcusable and people need to held accountable.

I would add that last year was the time to pivot from Zach, even if you ignore the obvious lack of skill, because everyone would be focused on Rodgers and his great draft 2 years ago and he would have gotten little flack for making the worst drafting pick in franchise history.

Instead he doubled down and bet the entire season on him, making it monumentally worse and putting a target on his back.

Impossibly he has basically destroyed all the good will he got from his draft 2 years ago (which is the best the franchise has ever had) by refusing to admit his mistake and wasting a season.

We have to focus on the fact that he has not fixed the offensive line.

I swear to God if they spend any capital on Davante Adams instead of making the focus of everything of the line it will be a monumental mistake. Rodgers will get killed behind this offensive line next year. We can find a decent enough WR for cheap.

We also should draft a QB for the future depending on where we are in the draft, although I have no confidence this brain trust had any idea about offense.
