How does the narrative change?

Let’s assume the Pats win and Mac has a solid game. Nothing heroic, no last drive comeback. Just a clean win.

How does the fanbase and media start talking about this team and about Mac as the guy moving forward?

We know weeks 1 & 2 were winnable games but we also know Bill Belichick had two of his worst losses of his career in weeks 4 & 5.

Patriots would be 3-5, 3-1 within the division. The schedule gets much easier from here with the Commanders, Colts and Giants on deck.

Are we able to chalk the slow start up to lack of system experience, injuries, a makeshift Oline, wasting time with Parker & Juju??

Or would you need to see more to change your opinion?

I honestly wouldn’t know what to think. Beating Buffalo and Miami while missing our two best players? It seems so far fetched given the talent remaining on the team and the fact that we got absolutely blown out by a shitty Saints team.

I would certainly have to revisit my rather low opinion of the team, that’s for sure.

If the Pats beat Miami, I would be stunned in all the best ways.

I don’t want to get my hopes up, but if the Pats carried last weeks performance forward, I’d be hype.

The narrative has already changed. Are you new here? Our fan base is reactive af and over reactive af, nothing in between.

Depends on Mac’s performance. If they were to win and Mac has an average-poor statline then the narrative stays the same that he isn’t the guy, if he has a statline similar to last then they’ll start to favor him more. Last Sunday was arguably the best he’s looked his entire career, hoping they can build on that.

I don’t get the vibe he’s the guy for us but I’m more than happy to be proven wrong, plus it’d be a shame to use a first round pick and then have to start over soon after.

We continue on our trudge to 7 or 8 wins as most predicted and that buys Bill and Kraft enough to justify continuing down this path of mediocrity. Most of you eat it up and continue to delude yourselves that’s this team is building something around August. Rinse. Repeat.

They’ve followed this exact script for about three years now. Slow start because they’re not ready or talented enough. Get fat on some semi impressive wins mid season. Then fade down the stretch as the good teams start to play their best football.

    I’ve seen this movie before.
