He’s either BSing, or, if this is truly the reasoning, he’s overthinking stuff WAY too much. Overthinking to a stupid degree. Good coaches and teams force the other team to adjust and aren’t reactive all the damn time. Kidd has a lot of these “aw shucks, they put us in a bad spot” rationalizations.
Looking at DP, he’s done a pretty good job of guarding Simmons
We really game planned for Ben as if he’s Steph 😩😆
and understanding Lively hasn’t seen that a lot here in this league
So is Kidd’s logic that Lively will magically soak up the experience by sitting on the bench? How about putting him out there and letting him get the reps so he can learn?
Powell played great today and Maxi fits better with small ball. If anything, we needed more Curry minutes over Hardaway, who was inefficient today and forcing things. No need to complain about Kidd.
It’s certainly frustrating. Kidd did this the last two seasons, he spends 15-20 games “tinkering” with lineups. And by that time there is usually an injury or two which messes with it for another 5+ games. Did I want Lively on the floor, absolutely. And I truly think our closeout lineup will consistently be Luka/Kai/Green/Grant/Lively down the stretch. I’ll take the win though and despite my feelings on Powell, if he plays like that I’ll take the 13 minutes and let Lively get the rest. Maxi I’m having a hard time with so far. Love Maxi but remembering the good old days when he was a 4th quarter killer seemingly are in the rear view. Maxi and THJ are unplayable in the last 6 minutes of games. But I’ll take the W and 2-0. Let’s gooooooo
Every single game ending looks like Game 7 of the finals. Even against the worst teams! Kidd you are not being paid by the NBA marketing department!
Kidd is just dumb!
I can understand not wanting to run Lively, but I don’t understand why the answer wasn’t Grant and Maxi. I love Dwight, but he hasn’t been the same since the injury and he was limited before that. I’d rather give Lively the experience now against a mid team.
