Obviously Geno’s injury was a big reason why we lost yesterday. I’m curious to know what people thought about Drew Lock.

Im seeing a lot of people say he played real bad, but I’m not sure I agree. His stats said he played bad, but I think he could have had 2 deep completions to JSN on 3rd downs if they were on the same page.

The first to JSN it looked like if he turned for the seam, he could have taken it to the endzone he was so open. Next was a deep corner to JSN that was just out of his reach. It didn’t look like JSN took the best path to the ball.

I think both were good throws that you can chalk up to lack of reps/chemistry. I’m very pleased to have Lock as a back up, I think he’s better than people give him credit for.

Lock was never good enough to be a starting qb in Denver and they were desperate for a qb idk why people thought he’d better than or on par with Geno.

To be honest I’m never gonna judge a guy who didn’t get first team reps in practice all week and had to be thrust into a game. Next week if he starts then we can really look at how he plays and see what we have.

I guess people can give whatever justification they want but at the end of the day he really did not look good.

The QBs discussions are a distraction. Waldron and his bizzaro play calling is where it’s at.

I’ve always thought of Lock as a high-tier backup. He’s certainly better than some of the guys other teams are trotting out there to start. If Geno went down and we had to start Lock long-term, once he has a few weeks to gel with the first-team offense I think we could stay competitive in games. Could be be better than Geno? Sure, who knows. But it’s hard to show off what you can actually do if you just come off the bench for three drives once a month.

Honestly, the two of his throws to JSN should have been caught. The interception was essentially a punt, and it wasn’t too bad as it was 3rd and long (unlike the 3rd and shorts that Waldron insists they throw downfield on).

Geno is definitely better, but I don’t think the people looking at his handful of plays and saying he sucks are being fair either.

Hard to play well when you’re not set up for success

I don’t think this is even remotely true.
