After a 10 year spree I have finally quit LOL. This is a heart felt post. I want league to be better than its current state. Ping restrictions, chat bans, and censorship. Why is league so toxic and how can it be fixed?

Team base sports have one thing team based games don’t have… A coach! The leader role that brings the team together and helps restore moral and polices the negativity.

Riot should ask the question: 5 player teams exhibit the same amount of punishments than their solo que counter parts? If not, then what is the difference?

Riot would be able to reduce overall toxicity if they added a 6th player to league. Allow a player a tier higher to ie: if game average is silver then allow a gold player to over see the team. Report negative behavior, make suggestions, remind to ward, call good or bad ganks, objectives. At the end of the game the team can rate the coach. As a reward the 6th player coach can get a one time only bonus LP boost in their next ranked matches.

Or have its own rank system for coaches. Image playing a low tier game with a master tier coach. Pushing the team forward. Imagine the future if ESports where 5 man teams can recruit a grandmaster coach to add a new dynamic to an already stressful game.

Some people are mechanically gifted. And some coaches can see opportunity’s the mechanically included player could capitalized on, cool down timers. The players will be less likely to fight with each other and focus on the game. We already vote for objectives. The 6th player has the chance to be able to type more, call plays, and describe the important of each objected.

Example, take Rift over Drake! Team comp is based off heals we need more chem drags. We challenge those. If someone is 2v1ing a lane they can step in and coach the important of levels over CS. Play safe and leach the XP. If someone is having a bad game they can suggest them to play safe & if the team flames let the coach decide if it’s unsportsmanlike or someone being overly sensitive.

This in return will teach lower tier players. Bring the team together, and add more depth to the game.

Solo que is more toxic than pick ups on a public basketball court. However, the park owner is not trying to ban people from the park for their verbal negativity. A coach/ref does that.

I believe if riot back tracks a bit and try’s a new game mode with a 6th player role then we might find better players, better teams, and less boosting. A higher tier coach will know when a Smurf is present and they will know how to shut them down.
