I know I will probably get lambasted for saying this but the logic we are trying to win games with is backwards in 2023. The rules are so heavily in favor of the offense that building an all world defense at the expense of the offense is lunacy. Not to mention we only have 5 draft picks in the upcoming draft. I believe that anyone on defense should be available with the exception of Quinnen and Sauce. DJ Reed , JJ, Quincy - could all potentially garner 1st round type compensation.
Does having JJ, Quincy and DJ outweigh 4 first round picks to use on offense and maneuver for more picks in the draft? Keep in mind - Sherwood has proven capable, Will McD could could have a 2nd year breakout akin to JJ. DJ Reed would hurt but I could live with it.
An alignment in priorities needs to be had and the ONLY way to accomplish anything in short order is moving defensive assets.
Flame me if you wish , but 13 years (sans 2015) of offensive ineptitude is about enough for me.
