Now that Worlds has ended and after seeing a lot of podcasts and people here talking about the greatest players of all time, I’ve created a comprehensive Google spreadsheet that calculates a score for professional players, aiming to rank them acording to their achievements. This ranking was created with the goal of providing an unbiased look at players’ achievements throughout the years. It serves as a platform to highlight not only the household names but also those players who might have achieved greatness but didn’t garner as much spotlight.
How It Works: The spreadsheet includes a table labeled “Points,” where you can adjust the values to change the weight of each accomplishment in determining a player’s total score. Simply create a copy of the sheet and tweak these values to reflect your own weighting preferences.
Clarity on Scoring Methodology:
- In cases where splits lacked MVP or All-Pro awards, I assigned these awards based on the matches’ MVPs throughout the season. If this information was unavailable, the total KDA for the split was considered.
- For years with three splits played (LCK 2013-14, LEC 2023), each split was weighted as 2/3 of the possible points in a split to ensure fairness across years and regions. Hence, you might notice instances where two players seemingly possess the same number of certain accomplishments but are counted differently. For instance, the “8” LEC titles of Caps actually represent 9, counted as 8.3 in the scoring system.
Visual Highlights: Within the spreadsheet, you’ll always find the top 3 players of each column highlighted with Gold, Silver, and Bronze colors, making it easy to identify the leaders in every aspect.
I’m counting all 10 but I’m giving years with 3 splits less value, so he actually is counted as 9.3. These achievements are counted as 0.67 instead of 1 so that if a player won everything on a year it still counts as 2.
I can’t find that column that isn’t highlighted, what letter is it?
