Here’s the backstory: was trying to download a keygen for some software, I never got it downloaded, but I ended up on a website that took over my screen that I couldn’t exit, so did a hard shutdown.

(I’ve done lots of hard shutdowns on this machine over the years, no problem…)

Now the machine won’t even load the bios! Spins up, black screen, thinks, then reboots endlessly. I don’t understand how that is possible from ending up on a bad website.

I tried shutting down, unplugging and letting it sit there with no power for a while. Didn’t help. Tried pulling the memory and reseating it, didn’t help. Unplugged all the USB drives, etc, didn’t help.

Everything was fine before this stupid website got me. Anyone heard of this?
