I’ve played fantasy for over half my life and I’ve never based my decision for kicker on the opponent’s defense. I feel like accuracy, team offense, and long-term consistency outweigh the defense by miles. There are certainly trends to note - cold/poor weather for some teams & red zone defense being my biggest ones. Troy Polamalu is the only defensive player I’ve ever seen (somewhat) consistently impact kicks. At the end, it feels like a lot is left to chance.

So, do you look at that ranking when you put your kicker in the lineup, or is it an afterthought for you?
