I noticed last year with Tua, McDaniel would sometimes script the first drive of the game and we would move the ball extremely efficiently in our first possession, taking like 5 throws to move the ball into the red zone. This year with our consistent slow starts on offense, I feel like we would benefit greatly from similar scripted drives to open up the game. I’ve been trying to increase my technical knowledge of the game lately so any weigh ins from fellow fans would be appreciated. Fins up!!

It’s adjustments to adjustments to adjustments. It also hard to sustain drives when an 8 yard gain is negated by a holding penalty.

How do you know they stopped scripting out drives?

I kind of imagine every NFL team scripts out a few drives from different parts of the field for every game and apply them accordingly, assuming they haven’t seen anything new from the defense.
