I currently have an Asus RT-AX86U as my primary router with three (3) Asus AX Mini XD4s completing the mesh network. Two (2) of the XD4 satellites are upstairs providing coverage to that space. All are backhauled.

Curious if replacing the upstairs XD4s with another RT-AX86U (it becomes the upstairs satellite, also backhauled) would increase speeds/range/etc.? Generally speaking, I don’t have issues with speed or stability but wouldn’t mind increase range to a couple of spots outside the home.

Or, would this be a waste of money any improvement might be negligible?
