he is the defensive wing who would help build up the defense and rebounding, he plays a lot bigger than his size would indicate. 12-10-1.7-1.2 is a monster stat line, his 3 point percentage is atrocious but everything else is beautiful.

I agree that he is exactly the type of player they need. I would kill to have a guy like that with the Mavs. But players like Thompson only get moved when it’s an earth-shattering type of trade for a superstar. You can offer the Mavs’ entire draft capital and it still wouldn’t be enough.
He’s pretty good but can’t shoot. I’d rather trade one FRP for Wemby (can play 4 next to Lively), and another FRP for Jayson Tatum (solves our size, defense, and 3rd scoring option issues)
