Tim: I would love to see Dua

Assistant, two hours later: Guess what? You’re now confirmed to go on interview with her, at her home, on her couch

Tim: A front row concert ticket is what I meant but this works too

Putting my money on Jeff Williams as Apple’s next CEO. Sure, Apple’s fame rests on design, software, and lately, their high-performance silicon. But let’s not forget, at its core, Apple is all about hardware manufacturing. Operations, sourcing, inventory, and production are the heartbeat of Apple. The CEO needs to be a master of these domains.

That’s exactly why Steve Jobs handed the baton to Tim Cook, and why Jeff Williams was the hero behind the Apple Watch’s success. Plus, since 2023, Apple’s elite team of around 20 industrial designers has been reporting to COO Jeff Williams. Seems like a clear hint, doesn’t it?

Yep. Operations enables Design and Software to do its best work. It is absolutely core to the success of Apple, going back to when Cook was hired in 1998.

I was angry when he became CEO after Steve died. Then realized I actually like this guy. I wish he stays. Even though I feel like we don’t need an Apple Car

I’m not going to read the article, but I am going to tell everyone Dua Lipa is going to be the new CEO of Apple based on the thumbnail.

Doesn’t seem too hard to be an apple CEO. Just kind of keep the ship going where it’s going?

Their next phone will probably be an iPhone, their next tablet will probably be an iPad and their next laptop will probably be a MacBook. So the CEO just needs to get on stage and say they’re the best and fastest ever. Paycheck.

    Super complicated stuff. Lol

It’ll be Jeff Williams, and Tim Cook’s enshittifaction of the product lines will probably continue to get worse with him at the helm.

Is it just me or does Apple feel like it’s heading in the complete opposite direction Steve Jobs would have taken it.

The community overwhelmingly downvoted my original comment, but I just feel like the quality control on Apple hardware and software has gone down along with the care about the user experience and genuine privacy.

No, Steve’s direction really wasnt THAT crazy in the 21st century Apple. It would be slightly different, the product stack would be simpler, but nothing revolutionary

I always thought Craig was the best one to take the reigns from Steve. Younger more “hip” guy, more product focused, runs the Mac show. Definitely hope the next guy is more product and image focused rather than numbers focused like Cook. I can see why a board would choose Cook but I never understood why Jobs chose Cook.
