Should make for an interesting press conference today.

If it was an Art Rooney decisions, then that assumes Tomlin didn’t want to fire Canada, which further concludes that Tomlin has no clue as to had bad his offense is.

Of course it was. Art has to approve every single decision that’s made.

That doesn’t mean Tomlin didn’t want Canada fired. Just means Art finally agreed.

Why would it? Rooney confirms/makes the final say on almost all these decisions lol. Nothing about that indicates Tomlin disagreed

Considering the last time they fired a coordinator mid season was 1941 I highly doubt Mike Tomlin didn’t voice his opinion.

The last time they fired a coordinator before their contract was up was in 2004

The one thing the Rooneys have never done was publicly undermine their HC. And I doubt that starts now.

You don’t get to this point without pissing both of them off

Yeah, this always was Art Rooney‘s decision. He cuts the checks. on almost any team, the owner, GM and head coach makes staffing decisions together. The Steelers never fire coaches midseason I’m certain a lot of that comes from ownership

Well duh….It was mostly likely a group decision which is why we are getting the news today and not yesterday. Art would of had to agree and sign off on the decision.

I don’t think for a second that Tomlin was defending Canada and if you remember his press conference on Sunday after the browns game he avoided talking about the offense entirely…probably because he knew that last 3 and out drive was all evidence he needed to get the guys together and get it done.

Not to mention, the locker room needs this done.

Tomlin probably wanted him gone a while ago, but couldn’t get approval. Probably part of the reason they moved him down to sidelines.

My guess is that after the locker room was bitching, Rooney finally decided it was time

They need to get their story straight. Tomlin said it was his decision alone and that Rooney and Khan were not involved
