Hey all, just to keep it short, I’m gonna just summarize my issues:
- I have a B450 Tomahawk Max with Ryzen 5 3600, both acquired in 2020, I think I updated my BIOS once I acquired it for the first time;
- Previous memory (since 2021) has been GSkill 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz/CL16 Ripjaws V;
- Decided on October this year to upgrade to 32 GB, but no GSkill brand of the same type of memory existed;
- Purchased Kingston 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Fury Renegade CL16 to upgrade my capacity (from 16GB to 32GB);
- Removed the old ones and using Kingston;
- Less than a month, BSOD and won’t boot - took it back to store and they gave me a new one;
- Start of November with new ones, less than a month… BSOD (today).
So, I’m currently stumped. I know it can’t be the memory itself and now I’m unsure what to go for. I intend later when home to try anything I’m suggested here, but right now I’m thinking of updating my BIOS and resetting the settings. I want to ask, is it possible that since the sticks were the exact same values, my BIOS didn’t adapt accordingly? I also don’t know about XMP profile and whatnot, so, really, I’d like to know why and what could be the cause of the issues and if doing what I’m saying can end up fixing my problem.
Thanks for reading, I’ll try to respond to what I can and reply with feedback/results!
