Obviously, we all are bummed out over starting 0-2. but PLEASE don’t overreact to these two games. First off people in this sub are acting like we got blown out, but we only lost by 6 to both. If Trae just shoots 30% from the field, we win both of these games and everyone in this sub doesn’t even care about his efficiency woes. Unless Trae has just completely forgotten how to shoot, (which some people seem to seriously believe) then the trend of this shooting WILL change. I’ve actually been impressed with Trae’s shot selection. most of his attempts are good shots, they just haven’t fallen yet, and they WILL eventually fall. People forget that Trae started poorly last year too starting shooting 41-31-89. Over the last 50 games of the season, he finished averaging 26 and 10 on 44-36-88. THAT is the player he is and the player that he will continue to be. That’s not even mentioning his fantastic playoff series where he showed who he truly is.

A new system is being put into place. It’s hard to learn a new system especially after running a different one for 2 years. It’s unrealistic to expect players to immediately do everything Quinn’s way only two games into the season. Thats not to say we haven’t already seen improvements from when Nate was here. Trae is moving off ball much more than he did, and we pass and share the ball more than we ever did. Quinn also has us running in transition a lot more which is where we thrive compared to Nates slow it down philosophy. Our offense looked great this game even with Trae shooting 25% from the field.

We played a great game against the knicks, and sometimes things just don’t go our way, namely Capela missing two of the easiest shots ever and Jalen Brunson making a career high 8 threes. Our defense has been greatly improved and I’ve been happy with the effort everyone has given. This is not a bad team we just need to be patient.
