If you didn’t anticipate BG3 to be a huge success you weren’t really paying attention. The game was in EA for like 2 years before release and it obvious even back then that the game was quality.
IoA’s problem was it’s marketing, and by that I mean lack there of. I didn’t even know the get existed until about 3 months before release when some YouTuber I watch were invited to play an early build.
After that I didn’t really see anything else until release and the get started getting mid reviews.
