I have seen so much discourse from fans about whether DJ is the guy and whether or not we should draft a QB this year. I really hope that this can be a civil debate because as fans this is the most important thing for the future of our team and needs to be addressed. I know all the arguments for each side (I am personally of the belief that DJ is not a franchise QB and it is time to move on). But for the people who do believe in DJ and believe that he has been handed unfavorable circumstances with the offensive line and weapons - Do you really believe that we can turn this thing around just by drafting a WR and signing some linemen? Does Marvin Harrison jr (or another rookie WR), a veteran RT and a rookie second round guard really make this team with DJ a contender? Even if I believed DJ was dealt a bad hand, I think this team needs to reset and get a rookie QB and restart the window where they can sign more players with a lower cap hit from the QB. I believed in DJ for a long time but I just believe that if you are paying a QB as much as we are paying DJ that he should be the type of player that elevates the team around him, not someone who needs to be elevated by a great roster. This roster is not a player or even 2 away from being a contender and paying DJ as much money as we are we don’t have the ability to add the number of players we need to be a contender with DJ as our QB, he’s not that type of player and never will be. If we had a roster like the eagles or 49ers maybe my opinion would be different but we don’t, and I just see keeping DJ for 3 more years as an easy road to staying mediocre.

Dan isn’t that good of a QB. Certainly not worth what they are paying him. I remember a few weeks back other teams were laughing at the Giants for that deal. Last year was his only good year. The previous four he pretty much sucked, ridiculous amount of fumbles, too many ints, he was not good. And now he is injury prone. I don’t think he is the future for the Giants.
