My wife’s Mazda 3 keeps having electrical issues. She constantly needs to jumpstart it. We’ve brought it into the service center and they keep blaming the issue on her dash cam. The thing is, she hasn’t plugged in the dash cam in 3 years! The first time we brought her car in, they blamed the dash cam. So we stopped using it. Now, the past 3 times we’ve brought it in, they blame it on a bad battery or an electrical draw from accessories (i.e. dash came). I’ve replaced the battery 3 times in the last year, have exhausted the battery warranty, and they’re now dead set on blaming the dash cam. Last time we brought it in, the mechanic re order himself plugging in the dash cam and documenting it as the reason.

Yes, they’re did not listen to me before or after the recent assessment. The only reason I haven’t completely ripped out all of the cables for the dash cam is because it was a pain in the ass to put them in AND I was hoping we could start using it again once we figured out a solution to the electrical issues. Now, I really do have to rip it all out for the next service visit.

One bit of advice I got was to get an aftermarket battery specifically for accessories. I’m completely inexperienced on this matter. Is there a quick, easy solution for simply plugging car accessories into?

But the dash cam is never plugged in. I’m not sure if I’m explaining myself correctly because the service providers keep bringing up the cam. They even plug it in on themselves and that’s why I was going to completely take the cables out of the car. 😵‍💫
