Just a little better than .500 teams but not good enough to consistently beat playoff teams.

Carroll, will not sniff another Super Bowl this way.

His drafting (also Schneider) has gotten a lot better but Carroll’s Xs and Os coaching is what limits Seattle from winning consistently.

These past several years, Seattle, struggles a lot against teams that are around .500 and cannot sustain consistent efficient offense for more than 2 back to back games.

The modern, NFL game, and other talented coaches have lapped Carroll for the most part in coaching schemes, and Xs and Os.

Carroll, at his best now, is just slight above .500

If you want to sustain this 9-8, 10-7 ceiling for wins, Carroll, should still be the Seahawks coach.

If you want a chance at more, ownership has to make a head coaching change.

Convince me otherwise.

Pete’s ceiling is whatever I think is going to happen with this team this year and I lack the imagination that with a better roster they might win more games

I think Pete meddles too much. I think this happens because he hires people that allow him to meddle in their game plans. It was most obvious with Norton and Scotty. He is the best player coach in the league. He is the best culture setter in the league. But he needs to step away from the pure play to play, drive to drive play calling on either side. I think his most effective role would be as an overseer that empowers his guys.

I don’t even think we have seen a sustained period of Shane Waldron offense. He came from the McVay tree. What are the staples of that offense? Heavy Play action, heavy zone, crossing routes and screens. This offense has periods of this but nothing consistent. Instead we have the same problems from the Wilson era. Gashed in the interior OL, non committal running game, long developing routes and a QB that holds on too long and has to scramble for a play. The constant throughout the years is Pete. He needs to let the guy do what he was hired to do

Pete’s ceiling at this point of his career is a wild card round loss.
