Bulls, Zach LaVine - no At a glance Lavine looks like a very solid player, but a deeper view reveals mediocre at best defense, iso ball and attitude problems.
Raptors, Pascal Siakam - no Siakam brings better defense than LaVine but at 29 years old, is not a 3 point shooter and doesn’t fit the Kings system as Barnes current role of 3 and d.
Raptors, OG Anunoby - no Although The best defender of the group, he has became an injury magnet and not great with the 3 point shot.
I do believe it’s time for the Kings to make an addition but has to be the right one .
Jazz, Lauri Markkanen - Yes At 26 years old, coming off a previous all star year, Markkanen is playing his best ball yet. Shooting 40% from 3pt, near 50% fg, big and surprising athletic. An added bonus Sabonis seemed to be hanging out with Markkanen throughout the all star weekend which was cool to see the two together with the Euro connection. Markkanen fits in with his great outside shooting and brings the interior help with rebounds and defense. With Fox, Sabonis and Markkanen all being all stars last season I can’t help but to drool with the thought of three young all stars together in Sacramento. I believe an important aspect of this move would be Murray feeling less pressure.
Trailblazers, Matisse Thybulle - Yes There’s no secret Kings need defense. As much as i’m a fan of Huerter on the offense side, he simply just can’t keep up on the other side of the court. At 26 years old Thybulle has become a weapon on defense and would make an immediate impact with the Kings. He’s currently shooting at 40% 3pt and would easily fit in Sacramento
With those additions there would have to be subtractions in order to make them work, i’m assuming
