Hey guys. I have been working on this medieval town and castle for the last few months. So far
it is roughly halfway built, but there is a lot more tweaking and building to do.
It is loosely based on an English Norman medieval town, with some more modern elements and mixed European medieval architecture. The idea for the town is it is a trading hub in the realm, with a varied mix of people and cultures/religions. The Crown rules the land and is in control of the laws and the people, but the Town is self-governed and makes its own rules regarding trade, justice and the day-to-day goings on, but has no say in what happens inside the Castle Bailey and what tax people must pay.
I have laid it out so that the Centre of the Town is the administrative area, the North end is the wealthier area with larger buildings, the East end is the Commercial are consisting of shops, workshops and storage areas, The South end is the less wealthy area connected to the port where most of the workers live, and the West side mostly consists of the jousting arena and areas for the Town Gaurd to train and live.
I am yet to name the Land, the Town and the Castle, so if you guys make some suggestions in the comments, the most upvoted suggestions will be used. Also let me know what buildings or areas you would like to see and any suggestions/edits for what has been built so far and I will try to add them in.
