Having a debate with an Italian guy about who is the bigger club and I think it’s close.

Both have won their domestic league 19 times and Milan have 1 more Champions League.

Milan probably have more well known legends like Van Basten, Kaka, Maldini, Gullit and Pirlo. But in recent years Liverpool have had Gerrard, Suarez, Alonso, VVD and Salah.

The current popularity of the Premier League helps Liverpool but Milan also has a huge fanbase.

The big historic 7 European Supergiants are Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan.

Real Madrid are probably top of that list but there’s arguments about the order of the other 6.

Liverpool is a much bigger name worldwide. The premier league is much more difficult to win than the Italian league. Anyone know the fan base numbers ?

Anyone under the age of 20 would say Liverpool. Anyone in-between 20-40 would say Milan. Anyone above the age of 40 would probably say either Liverpool or Milan depending on how much they valued each legendary player/teams of back in the days. It’s a tie.

Milan has a bigger stadium, better known legends, play in an affluent city, and has great history and traditions.

Liverpool is worth billions more , has more fans, and is better on the pitch. They also have the history and traditions.

It’s a tough question to answer.
