Since Warren has had a bit of a breakout season for us so far (while being the RB2 behind Najee) and is a fan favorite, and his multiple fines have brought attention to his low UDFA salary, do we think Warren gets extended this offseason? He’s currently on the 2nd year of a 3 year, $2.5 million deal. I’m not very knowledgeable about how the Steelers handle extensions, but to me it seems like he’d be a candidate for one.

Whether him signing a new deal would be this offseason or next, what kind of deal do we think he would he get?

If you could do it at ~ 2.5 to extend for 2-3 years, I’d probably do it. Especially if there wasn’t much guaranteed. Although to get him to sign a deal like that, he would probably want to have a bunch guaranteed. The incentive for him would be the signing bonus “get it now” money.

He’s scheduled to make about $1M next year. So if the SB was multiples of that, it seems like it would be hard for him to turn down.

But if we extend Warren after not doing the option with Najee (which I can’t see us doing), I wonder if Najee just asks to be traded.

Definitely exfend him if reasonably possible. That man runs hard. He deserves it. An extension shows appreciation. Also, if he keeps this trend up through next year, he is going to get expensive. I’d consider an extension as a thank you, and locking in a bargain price.

I’d give 3 for 10 and another 2 for a total of 12 based on easy as hell to reach bonuses

I would. He’s shown his worth and deserves to be rewarded. Also, he’ll only get more expensive the more game tape he can bring to a negotiating table.

Let Harris play out his rookie contract and extend Warren.
