I charge about 2% of the time at a charger.
There’s no more stopping for gas the same way. You get a charger at home and cottage, if you have one.
There are far fewer non Teslas being scaled rn in North America than people realize. Legacy OEMs are dying, they’re also in a credit rating fraud right now just like the mortgages one. It’s preventing them from taking the losses required to scale EVs and to sell them at proper prices for how bad they are by comparison to a Tesla.
Just how it is. We have new iPhones and only Nokia as alternatives. And these phones come with supercomputers.
EA needs this.
I was at Target. A PHEV that charges at likely max 22kwh took a 150kwh spot-a Hyundai and ID4 sat there waiting for the guy who was taking a nap.

Good idea with GM, Ford, Rivian et al about to get access to the Tesla chargers. We are going to need things to speed up charging cycles.
Though in Winter when its very cold and snowy roads, Tesla’s will have to charge to 100% to make it to the next charger so that extra 10% could be $20 surcharge.
This actually makes a lot of sense, above 90% charges at a much slower pace and is worse for the battery. I rarely supercharge over 80%. Super chargers are spaced closely enough that you can charge very quickly from 20-80% and be on your way. Tesla is now thinking about supercharger vehicle throughput with NACS adoption becoming mainstream.
Glad to see it, but this is only for busy sites
I got downvoted for suggesting this only a few days ago, but Tesla has just implemented a new $1/min congestion fee if you charge above 90% at certain locations when the Supercharger is busy. This should help improve throughput and reduce wait times at congested Superchargers. Charging past 90% is extremely slow, and in most cases it is faster overall to make a second charging stop.
I want this implemented everywhere but based on a queueing system baked into the app. You’re charged a congestion fee as long as someone is waiting on a queue.

This just doesn’t seem right man. This seems like it’s on the cusp of a monopoly. The government is about to step in and sue the living snot out of them. There is no alternatives to supercharging that is on par. Let’s see how this plays out. No doubt some lawyers are already thinking about a class action lawsuit.
