So we can now see the “great” plan from Valve. Instead of giving away 75% of the TI prize pool. They will now release cosmetics with other events such as the frost virus patch and will keep 100% of the earnings while giving the players nothing and give us a sub par TI production and minor low effort regular updates. Probably keeping the team in a small effective hereby reducing all costs and maximizing their profits. I barely understood the TI format this year and was underwhelmed with the whole event. Felt like dota was dead. This is quite bad. Dota has the potential of reaching such a bigger player base if they would only do more work in the marketing department (which they won’t). I think Dota was at it’s peak when outside contributors were making the skins. Much more creative than what Valve is making. (I remember a pudge hook made by an outside creator that never got released (because of valve) where he was spinning the hook above him like a lasso). Dota was at it’s peak gaming wise in 2015-2017. They should emulate whatever was happening back then. We need a big TI and a new hero every year. I feel like Valve is going to kill this game with their greed…
