I got the 1TB OLED Steam Deck not long ago. I plan to give my original one to my brother. It currently has a 2TB SSD in it and I’m trying to decide if I want to swap them or not. The internal drive for me is mostly for small indie games and the Shader Cache, while everything else is on SD cards. My brother isn’t a big gamer, so I don’t know if he would even want or use 2TB of Space. What would any of you do? Honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about cracking open the OLED only a few hours after I got it.

Yo, I have a 2TB disk in my LCD deck too and am currently waiting on 1TB OLED.

Honestly, I decided to just run with the 1TB and see if I want to upgrade further down the line. It’s not like I can’t upgrade afterwards whenever anyway. I decided that I don’t have to decide right now.

If cost is a worry to you, I would take out the 2TB drive from your old Deck and swap back in the old disk if your bro is not a big gamer. Then you at least still have the 2TB disk and are able to upgrade whenever you feel like.
