Pretty much the basics of my idea is biome specific bonuses, water generated or placed in a certain related biome increases item travel speed in water flows.
Deserts provide faster furnace smelting speeds which leads to less coal consumption.
Flower biomes or plains increase crop growth speed etc.

Exactly, this would make the game so much more interesting, like figuring out uses that wasnt originally intended or comboing 2 biomes together
