I am still a relatively new hoops fan so I am still learning concepts on both offense and defense in basketball. Can someone please explain in simple terms why the Sixers allowed so many points through Garland lobs to Mobley/Allen tonight? It was unacceptable
Most teams don’t play with two non-shooting bigs like Allen and Mobley. So in most cases, when a big/small are running a pick and roll, the 3 other offensive players are staying out of the paint.
I think we probably just defended these pick and rolls against the Cavs like we would against most other teams. If we were matched up in a playoff series against them, I’m sure we’d scheme against them and expose the weaknesses of playing 2 non-shooters.
