Well that’s fucking annoying. Out of all the esports brands this is the one that worked with my college so it’s the one I have ties to and would be able to get a foot in the door through.

most esports orgs exist for the purpose of swindling very rich venture capitalists not knowing what the scene can support.

    For lazy ppl:

The American organization Evil Geniuses plans to sell all its Esports rosters by the end of 2023. This was reported by Sports Business Journal journalist Kevin Hitt, citing his sources.

Peak6, the owners of Evil Geniuses, are ready to part with players individually or sell them as a full package. The sources claim that the organization’s attempts “were unsuccessful thus far.”

On November 20, Evil Geniuses left the League of Legends LCS along with Golden Guardians. Because of this, the tournament will now have eight participants rather than ten. Earlier, EG exited one of their legacy games Dota 2. In fighting games, they parted ways with Sonicfox and dekillsage. They still have other rosters, such as CS2 and Valorant teams.

The latter was Evil Geniuses’ most successful squad lately. They won Champions 2023 and finished second at Masters Tokyo. Shortly after their triumph, the players reportedly faced an option between departure and a pay cut.

Pretty crazy considering it’s one of the oldest Esports orgs in history, if not the oldest ever. I think it was founded in like 1997

Yeah gg is also done for, pretty much no org probably not even g2 can afford to lose their lcs/lec slot unless riot does a buyback for full price.

Genuinely rip bozo, couldn’t have happened to a better org. Shoutout Danny, SumaiL, and their entire Valorant roster for putting up with their bullshit, as well as all the interns that have shared stories about how brutal the work culture and incompetence was at the organization.

Gotta feel a little sorry for Srtty, lol. Finally gets on an LCS roster at the age of 21, after trying for nearly half a decade. The team then gets kicked out of LCS a week later, and then the org decides to call it quits straight after that.

Good riddance, a shame they were able to recruit people like semon1 , universe sumail to help carry their org but their organisation was rotten to the core
