I am a longtime Mazda driver who still owns the Mazda5 and love the look of the Mazda CX5. My only reservation is the mileage. 80% of my driving in the city, and Hybrid models provide much more potential savings.(24 mpg vs 42 mpg). Planning to drive around 6-8 thousand a year. Looks like Hybrid technologies are the way to go. I can get Mazda at a discount today but there is a dealer markup and wait time for hybrid Kia. Want to hear some expert opinions here. Thanks.

This is a Mazda sub and you’re never going to get an unbiased answer. The CX-5 blows anything KIA makes simply because Mazda engines don’t try to destroy themselves

I think you’d either have to be soft in the head or broke AF to buy a Kia right now. We aren’t even talking 1k in fuel savings per year and the Mazda holds value well enough that at 5 years it’s gonna make up the fuel cost with held value over a Kia.

    Out of those 2? Cx5.

    Another choice? CRV hybrid.

When I bought my 2020 civic, the salesman mentioned Hyundais 10 year warranty and how they’re able to get away with it… long story short, no one keeps their Hyundai 10 years, but I bet the Mazda lasts you that long.

I would go CX5, no hesitation. I have nothing against KIA, I just love Mazdas.

I’ll get a Tiguan 2.0T. It’s the cheapest among these two. And a lot of space.
