Hello,
Recently moved into a house where I’ve got a dedicated fiber line running into my basement where it connects with an ONT. The ONT is then feeding into a main Google Mesh router, and I have two other Mesh APs throughout the house connected over wireless in the traditional way.
This just really isn’t cutting it, and I want a hardlined connection (or as close to one as possible) to my office on the third floor. The house is wired with Coax. Is it possible to use MoCA with the current setup I’ve got? Also figured while I was at it I can use MoCA as a backbone connection for my two other mesh APs. My understanding is that I’ve got everything I need, just want to make sure before I go and spend any money.
I apologize if this is a silly question or if it’s already been asked, I just have never really ventured into this territory before. I am familiar with networking concepts and technology, just never really done anything like this in my own home. I figured a MoCA solution is probably the best I can get without running ethernet into my walls.
Any assistance or advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
