I really would like to go electric for my wife’s next car and the Model 3 seems perfect. Great lease deals, awesome charging network, decent service location…

However, I really don’t like Musk. I’m sure the other auto maker owners/ heads are deuche bags as well but at least they aren’t vocal about it.

What is the ‘conundrum’ you have?

That the company that makes the superior EV and leading the way to sustain energy products is headed a person whose views (which you got from the mainstream media. I.e., someone fed your opinion to you) you say you don’t like ?

If I asked YOU (not anyone else here) what views those were, would you be able to prove them? I.e., not just regurgitating what you heard someone else say about him, what would YOU say ?

Since MSM fed you your opinion about musk, I can see why you go to Reddit to ask people to feed you an answer on what you should do….

Musk only owns 13% of Tesla, and that was before that Twitter fiasco. There are thousands of employees that work there, not just one individual. I couldn’t care less about him. It’s what the Tesla brand stands for that interests me. If it wasn’t for Tesla, there wouldn’t be a big push to EV like we’re seeing now. Push that is dragged down by big manufacturers doing what they can to slow it down. Do I wish Musk stepped down for CEO? yes, but it won’t change my mind about the company.

Musk is not Tesla. He is one of 20,000 workers. I agree he does grate people pretty often, but some of that publicity is from those with an opposing agenda.

We are on our second Tesla, no regrets.

You’re right, other CEOs are often no better. Personally, I don’t let anyone judge me on it - everyone uses products with something objectionable about its making .

I know it doesn’t solve the cancel culture situation but if we were all purists about who is behind a product, 90% of products would be off limits.

As a Tesla owner I absolutely agree. I really like my cars but at this point Tesla would be better off with someone else as full time CEO.

I love my Tesla, but don’t like Musk either. The good thing is: you don’t get Musk with the car.

If you’re worried about others judging you: get a bumper sticker proclaiming your dislike for Musk.

I’ll give my opinion on the matter. All car companies suck. I’ve worked with Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Chevy, and now Tesla. All of them suck.

I am/was trying to pull off a last minute purchase of a Tesla last night and while it wasn’t completely their fault, their statements are baffling. They basically told me they don’t have to follow the states rules because they’re Tesla. Today, they’re kind of walking back on that statement.

I spent 2 hours on the phone with GM financial trying to buy out my lease. They add tax on. There’s no tax on EVs in my state. They couldn’t figure that out. I said “Well, reach out to someone to fix it.” They can’t. They claim to be an insulated department and I have to deal with a dealer (who wants to charge $500 fee to do the buyout) or call corporate who will maybe do something.

They all suck. They all just change the rules and do whatever and offer awful service at some point.

I should probably add, I’m too poor to deal with premium brands so maybe they’re a bit better, but I doubt it.

I mean I don’t like Musk either and I still have this Tesla. Sure, I’d make myself feel a tad better driving something else but anything better is substantially more expensive and is a bit less convenient to own.

Ask yourself the same question with Bezos and Amazon (though Bezos isn’t nearly as batshit crazy)

Don’t hate on Musk. He really is a tragic character probably on the downward spiral after accomplishing more than any of his contemporaries.

Elon was always on the spectrum of autism, which used to exhibit itself in genius drive and creativity, but now his focus is on all the hate he gets for his lack of self control.

I also don’t like what he stands for these days, but I try to draw on my experience with my own father who succumbed to dementia and eventually Alzheimer’s. It was really hard to love him toward the end, but with the correct perspective it was doable.

IMO Musk is mental, not evil. He is single handedly responsible for the rapid electrification of cars and the new era of space exploration. Get a Tesla in the honor of that Elon that everyone respected, not the current troubled soul.

Kia, Hyundai, VW, GM, Ford…lots of alternatives.
