I’m don’t mind games making enemies sponges as long as I get rewarded for it.
If I play a game that has;
Story Easy Medium Hard
I expect that the XP multiplier hard to be 50% faster then story.
If that means I unlock skill points better, great! I’ve been rewarding.
Not having XP/Gold etc… scale with difficulty sucks.
Oh man, don’t get me started on games with shitty difficulty scaling. I LOVE resident evil, but the recent games (village and 4) have had some of THE ABSOLUTE WORST difficulty scaling I’ve ever encountered. It’s very clear nobody ever play tested the higher difficulties and instead just upped enemy damage, decreased player damage and decreased resources across the board without considering how that would actually play.
I feel like it should continue mostly on a straight line going neither up nor down overall, but having moments in it that might be easier or more difficult.
