JTO mentioned Deebo not going full speed on plays where he’s a decoy or not the primary. I’ve noticed the same when watching Jonnydel, Chase Daniels’ and Kurt Warner’s breakdowns. Maybe I missed it, but I think JTO is the only one to callout Deebo?

Are JTO and my eyes deceiving me? Is Deebo loafing, slacking, pulling a Randy Moss?

Is Kyle playing the long game, schematically, where the film on Deebo looks poor only for defenses to not key on him so much?

Deebo’s numbers have fallen off a cliff. He still demands plenty of respect. I just wish the production was matching. He’s not producing anything even in the same stratosphere was he was in 2021

Wouldn’t shock me. if deebo this way. trade his ass. get a first rounder and draft a new guy . no room for half ass players.

Can’t argue with the effort with the pregame hype boombox entrance though. I’ll always have love for Deebo though as the guy we took instead of Metcalf. Hopefully I didn’t just jinx my favorite holiday. Go get ‘‘em Deebo!

That is his opinion on what he sees when reviewing tape. Deebo definitely runs a slower route sometimes. It could be any number of reason being tired/catching his breath from the previous play, loafing knowing he’s 5th in the progression, or making sure he’s running with the correct timing. Whatever the reason if it’s a problem have some faith the Coaches will correct it.

It is also important to take commentary for what it is, entertainment. JTO and everyone else is looking for people to watch and engage/comment on videos so they do well and it appeases the algorithm. I have zero problems with this it’s just a part of business. If he gets a higher rate of engagement every time he criticizes Deebo he’ll keep doing it.

Who cares. U don’t have to run full blast everytime as long as u took the player u needed to take out if ur being out as a decoy. Also imagine being a DB covering Deebo thinking, “hey he’s not that fast.” Then suddenly catches the ball and turns on the jets. There’s a lot more nuance at play here than simply, he’s not giving it all he’s got unless he has the ball.

He doesn’t seem to be in the best shape tbh but neither am I 😅 idk maybe he’s just taking it easy since we have so many weapons.

Deebo fools them with normal speed and when he has the ball, turbo boost kicks in.

His body language doesn’t seem great to me watching this year. His role in the offense has changed and he isn’t the alpha target guy and goto RB anymore. Hopefully he is still good in the locker room cause I don’t see things going back to the way they were.

Our offense is more vertical than it used to be so…in some ways Deebo’s importance has kinda reduced. It feels weird to say this but lately it feels like Kittle and BA are basically competing unofficially to be the top target on the team and it’s elevated our passing game to a new level.

The short stuff near the LOS is not as important as it used to be… though I still have to say that we need the full cast healthy to win the SB.

This offense is built around Purdy-Aiyuk-Kittle-Trent in the pass game.

Our run game itself isn’t as good as it was in 2019 or 2021…which is weird when you consider we added CMC…we are better when we pass (#1 EPA Rank) than when we run (#10 EPA Rank).

The offense itself makes Deebo more useful as a decoy now.

Any weakness can be a strength if an attempt to exploit it can be anticipated.

Deebo has always been lazy on outside clearing routes
