Has anyone else been rebuffed in recommending this show to your peers, friends, colleagues, family etc. - specifically for the reason that they “don’t like animation”?

I’ve gotten it a lot lately. And I got it a lot 5-6 years ago when I tried recommending a completely different adult animated series to my friends in Bojack Horseman. I am a millennial in my early 30s and so are most of my social group. Does anyone have any workarounds to evangelize the haters?

On the one hand art is totally subjective and if folks don’t like animation because they think its childish or its just not their bag I totally respect it. But the folks I am talking to won’t even give it a chance, and ironically I think Invincible is a super versatile show that not only has action and superhero stuff but tons of drama, humor, and heart.

Does anyone else run into this problem or did I take a wrong turn and end up at Urath?

It’s gonna take an entire sociocultural movement to make people realize animation it’s a medium and not exclusive to kids :c

My girlfriend would not watch anything animated when we first got together.

A few years later and she’s watched all of AOT, Vinland saga, invincible, ATLA, OPM etc. with me and liked them.

She had a big aversion to nerdy stuff and wasn’t into it so I showed her the Netflix daredevil and punisher shows to show her that nerdy stuff could still be very grounded and serious and from there she started getting into it all.
