And it’s about the screen. Someone I know used to play games such as Battlefield on an OLED TV, and the health bars and crap got burned in. He says OLED is cool, but it’s definitely not for gaming. Worse yet, I intend to play some strategy games on the Deck, and I dare not say just how many things can get burned in like that.

So, could this occur with the Deck as well?

    They have safe workarounds nowadays to advoid burn in. I’d be floored if valve didn’t account for this, and would’ve imagined a lot of tech sites like digital foundry would’ve cut deep into them.

    I’ve been playing strategy/old school RPGs on Switch OLED and never had any issue with burn in. I ordered the Deck OLED and can’t see there being any issue with burn in either.

    How old was the OLED? That’s not really as big of an issue on modern OLEDs, especially W-OLEDs. QD-OLEDs from what I understand are a lot more prone. I believe the SD uses W-OLED.
