For that price, a chromebook would be a good way to go. Walmart had a good deal on a Acer 315 chromebook. It is $200.00 or bit less on Friday.

Walmart had a pretty nice Asus Vivobook that $370.00 with cpu i3-N chip.

A 3rd option is Dell Refurbished.com has business computer returned after a lease. A nice Latitude would be $350.00.

refurbished/used thinkpads are the way to go. try thinkpads from somewhere around 5-10 yrs ago. ask ur brother what he wants from a laptop. if he want older tech there’s definitely great options

why refurbished/used thinkpads? they’re rugged. many thinkpads from 10+ yrs ago still look brand-new and function perfectly fine, whereas laptops from dell, hp, etc. would be falling apart (literally), or already have
