There were multiple occasions yesterday that we had issues inbounding the ball. Billy Donovan clearly made the bulls aware of this and they were really aggressive with ball denial.

Darko used two time outs for the inbound at the end of game, and we still couldn’t do it cleanly, and led to a turn over and a Demar and one play. There were also a lot inbound play that were shaky and could very well become a turn over.

My point is, this is clearly a weakness of the team and smart coach like Billy Donovan will exploit it.

The other weakness is ball security, as you can see the bulls sending a lot of ball pressure when Scottie is handling the ball from the back court. Right now Dennis is the only one that you can have 100% confidence handling the ball in a stressful situation. Flynn was supposed to be a small guard and he was supposed to offer some help on that regard, but unfortunately he just sucks.

its definitely a weakness right now. im sure they’re already aware of it. matt and jack were talking about it during the game too.

watching the second unit, i dont think ANY of them should pass or dribble until they learn how. GTJ not included. Instead, he needs to keep his head up and on a swivel. His issue isnt skill, its in reading the play. he’s not able to play on a string. and his killer instinct takes over as the best of the bench which leads to boneheaded ISOs (even if its the only option bc the rest of the guys dont know how to move off the ball)

of the starters, i think scottie or yak should be inbounding the ball, depending on which side of the court theyre on. Yak should inbound in the halfcourt, because he’ll be ready to pick/screen after the pass and he can see and pass over a lot of defenders while the opposing team either gives him that and keep their center near the basket, or it opens the lane. Scottie should do it if he needs to be a secondary ball handler to take the ball up the court via a pass back bc of pressure. pascal and dennis should be the main recipients.

i feel like scottie shouldnt be taking the ball up the court ALL the time yet, but hes definitely capable. just that we’ve seen what strong defensive pressure can do and he needs to develop that which is one of the reasons why i think the inbound should be to pascal and dennis. another reason is that scottie is a very very capable passer can do the same things jakob can, but better.
