I have built an online education business that’s great for relatively passive income. I still have to do something almost every day, but it’s usually low maintenance. I probably spend 5 hrs per month on it.

We help students get college admissions scores for the ACT.

The company grossed $50k last year and has two income streams: monthly subscribers and U.S. high schools/school districts.

I’m at a crossroads. I either need to turn my business over to my co-worker, who is great, or sell it. My energies are heading in other directions, and I feel like the business has enough potential to reach many more students than it does now.

I think the content would be a steal of a plug-n-play for a company that already serves curriculum to school districts.

Hurdle:

We have 10-20,000 users per year, but we have server issues with schools that have 400+ simultaneous users. I’ve avoided much bigger accounts b/c I’m not confident we can handle their student load well.

Is it even possible to sell a business that only grosses $50k?
