Am I the only one that is “struggling” with feeling like an imposter for how good this team is?

All my coworkers are with Bears or Packers fans (I live/work in the Chicagoland area). They congratulate me and talk the Lions up. On top of that all the media attention, seeing the standings, the graphics with us being SB contenders….its overwhelming!

We’ve all stuck with this team and seen the worst of the worst. The SOL mentality feels engrained and I struggle to voice my excitement and belief in this team in fear of jinxing them. So I keep it quiet publicly.

I’m enjoying the hell out of this. I don’t know what to do with these feelings!

Thank you for listening and you all are a source of pure joy daily.

One pride. 💙

SOL PTSD is a real thing, and it’s okay to feel weird about this.

It IS new and weird for a lot of us.

I’ve heard it mentioned in several places that the fan’s don’t know how to handle success yet because we have never consistently won.

I suffer from the same that you describe, just waiting for that all too familiar crushing blow that inevitably happens each season, especially if you have been a fan for a decade or more.

I will say that feeling is slowly waning simply because they are finding different ways to win unlike prior teams where the script had to go exactly as planned or the bottom would fall out.

Bottom line, our team is good and we have to start accepting that even if it feels against our better judgment.
