I am an automatic updates on all my Apple devices, and tonight my AW SE got WatchOS10.
I am shocked and disappointed.
The most basic and used feature has disappeared, you cannot swipe between watchfaces anymore! Is this not the core feature of the Apple Watch? Configure yourself a bunch of watch faces, stylish or packed with information, whatever fits the situation, add complications freely, and then swipe between them with ease?!? This is the core functionality of my Apple Watch, the feature I use at least a dozen times per day. Poof, it is gone. Decide yourself for one Watchface, or go into the menus every time to change it.
Honestly, this change has moved me from thinking about what is going to be my next Apple Watch to thinking about which brand of smartwatch I want to try next. If I wanted a product where the manufacturer was making changes for change’s sake, I‘d use my Windows machine.
That capability returns in the 10.2 release due in two or three weeks…
Am I missing something here? I just tap and hold on watch face and swipe left/right to choose another watch face.
I don’t see what exactly is missing here.
Wait what? So it’s literally just one extra step?
Yes. Press and hold for about 1 second and swipe to your hearts content. I actually went back and changed to the old way and I actually prefer the hold then swipe.
Ah that’s not too bad actually
First of all: No duh. Second of all, yeah you should never update anything as soon as it comes out. That’s tech 101
Okay bro so I agree and am avoiding WatchOS 10, but you listed one relatively weak reason. At least back yourself up more…
(And for those curious I’m not updating because I have an older watch and the bezels are so prominent on WatchOS 10)
What are the problems in your opinion? As I said, swiping between watchfaces is the feature I use many times per day. Other stuff might also be bad, but since I use it infrequently, I do not really care.
Fair enough, my point was more that I was expecting more than one issue mentioned in your post when I read it haha
