It has been years (since 2019) since I bought a game at release. There are just too many good games right now, and games are also expensive. Sometimes, I find myself replaying games I had already completed years before. Not buying games at release has afforded me two main benefits:

  • I get to enjoy cheaper games with great discounts on brand new PS4 games and fantastic deals on used Nintendo games.
  • I can appreciate a game for what it is, without letting any hype or internet communities influence my perception. For instance, I recently completed TOL2 just two months ago, and by then, I had forgotten why the game was controversial at all.

Any thoughts from you fellas?

I wait until reviews and patch notes before I buy a game, if the reviews are good and patch notes patch glitches and issues I’ll buy it, if the reviews are bad and patch notes don’t fix anything I won’t buy it
