Can't fit new drop link in after removing old

Car is a citroen saxo VTR facelift

I have removed a drop link, and I am trying to get the new one in. but the angle of the ARB means it doesnt fit.

Does this mean:

My ARB is bent/upside down
I need to bend the ARB drop link to fit, and if so, how?
I’m being an idiot?
