There used to be a “Least Played” mode but it has been removed years ago for reasons I don’t know. I feel like currently ranked matches are too hardcore where you only pick meta heroes and/or the heroes you know the best. You can choose to go play unranked but the quality of those games wildly vary; you sometimes get some opponents who are picking the hero for the first time or they don’t really care that much about winning.

I feel like having a half-ranked or low ranked “Least played” mode would benefit the unranked games too. You could earn or lose 5/10 MMR for a match. You would still have some incentive to win the game but wouldn’t be too bothered if you lost it. The only concern would be stealing players from both ranked and unranked modes.
