Hello everyone, my partner and I are owners of a 1977 Diesel Mazda Parkway and we are travelling Australia. We are running into small technical difficulties and are currently located near Goulburn NSW.

We are just reaching out in hope someone may know a thing or two about HXA001 alternators with a plug code “EFNA”.

Any other info you might know or wish to share we would love to start a conversation on the topic of MAZDA Parkway.

I had to look it up, but the Parkway looks like a lot of fun… and self drive vaca in one through SE Australia is trip of a lifetime. Came out of same plant as my 5.

Fortunately, alternators are usually quite generic, repairable, with few OEMs. The hard part is finding an old school mechanic to help, not just a part salesperson searching an old part code.

Most all .com.au sites (Repco, Sparesbox, etc) list the part with the Tinkr website says they have the HXA001 in stock.

As it’s belt driven, an easy-swap out/replace. Maybe a local mechanic will do you a solid if you’re not handy.

A dodgey alternator is a not something you can get buy on, the risk of it not starting at anytime is pretty high.
