Long story short, my steam decks screen refuses to turn on (no backlight, no image). It still works as I’m able to hook it up to an external monitor.

I’ve done all of the troubleshooting steps to no avail and steam support says that I need to send it in to get repaired. The estimated cost is $185 USD and I’ll get a 90 day warranty on the work.

My hesitation is that I’ve had this less than 1.5 years and it’s already had a major issue. On top of that, this repair is about half the cost of the entire unit. Should I just buy a new one that will have a one year warranty?

Anyways, for those who have sent theirs in for a screen repair, what was your experience? Was it worth it?
