Despite the best efforts of the UK Royal Mail, my Keychron K2 Pro arrived today.

The keyboard feels solid, and there’s no pinging or other negative sounds while using it. The browns are not quite as clicky / loose as my vortex, but it’s brand new - we’ll see how that progresses.

Bluetooth works pretty seamlessly, and I like that there’s a dedicated off switch to save battery. Switching between 2 devices so far has been robust, but it’s Bluetooth, so I’m sure I’ll regret those words at some point.

I’m not fond of the usb port placement on the side as I use a mouse left-handed - preferred the Q8’s location at the top. But it’s a minor thing.

Speaking of switches, the Windows / Mac switch works, but I’ll probably just keep my remaps in Karabiner since that’s what I’ve had for an age.

The software for remapping keys is simple to get going with, but the basic layout is almost identical to my vortex race 3, so I’ve not found anything to change yet - although I do want to get some slack reaction macros in place at some point.

The only con so far is the bottom row. The case is much chunkier than the vortex, and the bottom row feels like I’m hitting the top of the case around there quite often. That’s possibly because I tend to bottom out when typing, and I also prefer the board flat, so there’s no angle on it. I’ll try the feet on the lowest level and see how that goes.

Now to just hope it lasts and doesn’t catch fire :D
